The kitchen is particularly spacious with an abundance of cabinetry, a supersized island and a large walk-through pantry.
The contemporary flat-front cabinets are painted in a unique shade of grey with a hint of sage green, complemented by antique bronze hardware and sleek marble-patterned quartz countertops. The grey-and-green colour palette carries through to other areas of the home.
“There is an excellent work triangle in this kitchen. The layout is super efficient and works well for multiple cooks,” says Birchfield.
The open flow between the kitchen, dining area and living room means families can stay connected and conversing before, during and after meal time.
A second family relaxation zone has been created in the bonus space on the second floor. Unlike most floor plans, which feature a bonus room over the garage, Touchstone has positioned the bonus room in the middle, with the children’s bedrooms on one side and the upstairs laundry and master bedroom on the other side.
“Laying the bonus room out this way means we aren’t wasting space with a traditional hallway,” Birchfield says. “By separating the bedrooms, the master suite also has more privacy.”
