Police, fire respond to suspicious package delivered to VIDO-Intervac

Saskatoon police and firefighters are responding to a suspicious package that was delivered to VIDO-Intervac earlier this afternoon.

In a news release, police said they were called around 2 p.m. about a suspicious package that was delivered to a research centre in the 100 block of Veterinary Road.

The police explosive disposal unit and the fire department’s hazardous materials response team are investigating. Traffic restrictions are in place on Veterinary Road, and the public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
