Staff or students at two more Saskatoon schools have tested positive for COVID-19.

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools spokesman Derrick Kunz confirmed that one person at St. Mark School and one at Bethlehem Catholic High School have tested positive for the virus as of Wednesday.

Five Catholic schools have reported cases of COVID-19 since Monday, including Holy Cross High School, École St. Peter, St. Joseph High School and the two reported Wednesday.

“These cases early in the school year remind us that we all have a shared responsibility to decrease the risk of COVID-19 entering schools,” Kunz wrote in a statement.

Information on the cases is limited to protect patient privacy, but the division said the Saskatchewan Health Authority is actively contact tracing and that parents and caregivers are being contacted with next steps.

The division also reminded students and families to make sure they perform daily health screenings introduced as a way of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in schools, and to say home if they are feeling unwell.
