Saskatchewan RCMP are asking anyone with information to come forward after an early morning robbery reported on Friday in the village of Debden.

According to police, an employee of a pawn shop in the village of about 340 people spotted three masked men dressed in black leaving the business around 6 a.m., carrying stolen merchandise.

One of the suspects allegedly pointed what police described as “a sawed off firearm” and fired at the employee’s vehicle. A second shot was reportedly fired at the vehicle as the employee fled the area.

Police said the employee was able to get away unhurt.

RCMP advised that forensics experts would be working at the scene over the course of the day Friday, as they try to identify the suspects and their vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Big River RCMP detachment at 306-469-2590, or contact Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers to submit tips anonymously.

Debden is about 200 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
