Saskatchewan RCMP reported Tuesday that an investigation spanning more than eight months has resulted in a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a man on the Onion Lake Cree Nation.
Braden Richard Bull’s body was found in January at a location along Highway 797 on the First Nation, located about 50 kilometres north of Lloydminster.
Police said they arrested 24-year-old Vega Bear in Edmonton on Monday, after investigators conducted several interviews while following up on tips about the case.
Members of the RCMP forensics and polygraph units also helped, according to an RCMP media release.
Bear was transported to Lloydminster, where he was to make his first appearance in provincial court on Tuesday.
RCMP said their investigation into Bull’s death remains open.
