Alberta RCMP are currently searching for a Saskatoon man, who has been living in Galahad, Alta., and his girlfriend after the pair failed to return from a hiking trip.

Matthew Kozak, 32, and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Zabrina Ferrier, were believed to have spent the weekend hiking in Jasper.

In a press release, RCMP said Kozak was last seen at work in Forestburg, Alta. on Friday and Ferrier in Galahad on the same day.

According to a Facebook post written by Kozak’s brother Michael Kozak Monday afternoon, the couple were last heard from in the Hinton, Alta. area Saturday afternoon. A few hours later Michael updated the post confirming that the RCMP had discovered the couple’s car parked in the Astoria Parking Lot on Mount Edith Cavell.

RCMP are continuing to search in the area the couple’s vehicle was found.
